Blackburn Rovers are unlikely to have any new faces for the upcoming EFL cup clash with Crewe Alexandra, according to manager Owen Coyle.

The injury-hit squad has suffered immensely in the opening few games of the season. Blackburn have taken just one point from these four matches and are sitting bottom of the table. It is a desperate situation at Ewood Park, butCoyle has requested patience from the supporters. He expects things to improve once the club brings a few additions in the remaining few days of the transfer window. Even if they may not be permanent solutions, Coyle is confident that at least a few loan signings will come to the club.

The former Bolton manager has also revealed that Blackburn have been talking with a number of clubs over signing individuals, but he expects some progress to be made only in time for the weekend. The squad take on Fulham this weekend knowing that another defeat would be disastrous. Meanwhile, the club can also hope for a lot of positivity if they managed to win against the London outfit even in such difficult circumstances. A win against Fulham is easier said than done since the London team are undefeated in the opening four matches.

They are fifth in the table and looking to build on the success. “Numerous conversations with clubs are taking place. We thought we were close to something but a couple of injuries at a certain club curtailed that. That’s not to say it won’t happen, it just may take a little longer than what we’d hoped.I was trying to bring in a couple of players for last Saturday, it never materialised, but it won’t stop us from trying. It’ll be the same faces for the cup game but we’d certainly like to try and add for the Fulham game at the weekend,” said Coyle.
